Greens Special School from Hyderabad is a Special School. They work with children with Autism, Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy and other intellectual and developmental disabilities. Ayesha Educational Society & Greens Special School is run and founded by Ms. Ayesha Rubina. in 2002. Greens Special School provides special education to individuals with all disabilities in the mild to moderately severe category. Ms. Rubina runs a regular school called Genesis - the Right High School where she has two special needs students in every class. She also runs a college called Bharathi Vidyalaya College of Education & Training and it offers a diploma and postgraduate diploma in early childhood education. Ms. Rubina is the Hon. Secretary of A.P. Welfare Association for Mentally Retarded, a founder member and a trustee of Special Olympics, A.P. Greens Special School is striving to (a) ensure that all early childhood educators also have some special education training, (b) link the paediatric units of all hospitals to early intervention centres so that special needs children are identified early and, (c) include special needs children into schools and the society they live in. The school aims to integrate as many students as possible into mainstream schools. The special school is in the ground floor of a three-floor building and has around 75 students with a teacher-to-student ratio of 1:12. The team at Greens Special School consists of special educators, physiotherapist, speech therapist and psychologist.
