Intellectual disability or ID (previously known as MR) is a neurodevelopmental disorder with onset during the developmental period of 5-18 years. It involves both the intellectual and adaptive functioning deficits in conceptual, social and practical domains. However, with good management practices and family involvement, a child diagnosed with intellectual disability(ID) can lead a happy and good life.
