The government has implemented a number of schemes and allowances for individuals with developmental disabilities. These schemes are to promote the welfare of individuals diagnosed with Intellectual and Developmental disabilities. This presentation highlights a few Central Government benefits that are applicable to individuals with disabilities** of Indian origin. In addition, your State may have added benefits for you according to where you live and the documents you carry that affirm your child’s diagnosis.

This presentation focuses on different benefits and allowances. For instance, income tax benefits, travel allowances, income-generating opportunities and employability options for individuals with developmental disabilities.

To stay informed and be aware of allowances/mandates that are well within your rights please also read The Rights of Persons with Disabilities (RPWD) Act, 2016.
