The Department of Pediatrics is headed by the eminent pediatrician of Hyderabad, Dr Sivaranjani Santosh. She received her pediatric training from the prestigious JIPMER institute and she has the vision to develop pediatrics department with state of the art and comprehensive pediatric subsepeciality services including pediatric neurology, delivered with compassion in a child friendly way.
Aim of Child Neurology Services
To impart holistic care to children with neurological, developmental and behavioral problems based on latest evidence based protocols and delivered with compassion. A child with a neurological disorder requires specialist care by a pediatric neurologist and not a general neurologist as a child cannot be equated to a miniature adult. 1. DR. ANIL VASUDEV ISRANI MD (gold medalist), DM (Pediatric Neurology, AIIMS)
Consultant Pediatric Neurologist Lead, Child Neurology Services Dr Anil Vasudev Israni is one of the few qualified pediatric neurologists of the country. He has an exemplary career with 3 gold medals in MBBS and 2 gold medals in MD (Pediatrics). He has been the recipient of prestigious Dhirubhai Ambani Merit Scholarship. He received his superspeciality training (DM) in pediatric neurology from the most prestigious medical institute of India – the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi. He has vast experience of working in major hospitals in India. He has several publications in national and international journals and has participated as faculty in several scientific conferences. He is a clinician par excellence and has a very child-friendly approach.
2 Consultant Pediatric Intensivists and Neurointensivists
They are senior pediatric intensivists. They completed fellowship in pediatric intensive care after post-graduation in pediatrics. They have vast experience in managing critical care and emergencies in pediatrics. With use of advanced technology, monitoring equipment and precision in procedures, they are instrumental in providing excellent outcome in children with critical neurological illnesses.
3 Occupational and ABA therapist
Occupational and Applied Behavior Analysis therapist is a key member of our team.She is US certified ABA therapist. She is instrumental in rehabilitation of children with various neurological disorders and helps in attaining independence in activities of daily routine in children with cerebral palsy and other neurological conditions. She is dedicated to provide quality care to children with Autism using Applied Behavioral Analysis.
4 Physiotherapist
A child friendly physiotherapist who delivers therapy in a play way, she helps in recovery of children following stroke,children with cerebral palsy and neuromuscular disorders. Limb alignment, stetching and strengthening exercises as well as correct training for walk (gait training) are the key elements of her care. We have a team of physiotherapists with a dedicated rehabilitation centre.
5 Audiologist and speech therapist
Hearing impairment and speech problems are common issues in children with neurological disorders. A dedicated audiologist helps in detecting hearing impairment and suggesting hearing aid. Speech therapist also helps in providing the right intervention for various speech problems and speech delay in children.
6 Clinical Child Psychologist
Intellectual delay and behavioral problems are quite common in childhood. Clinical child psychologist helps in assessing the behavioral problems and advises regarding the corrective measures for improving childs behavior. 7 Consultant Pedodontist
Dental problems are very frequent in children with neurological disorders in particular. She is a dedicated pediatric dentist and emphasizes on oral care for prevention of dental problems. She is an expert in dental problems in children and has special interest in surgery of cleft lip and cleft palate.
8 Orthopedic Surgeon
An orthopedic surgeon is needed in rehabilitation of children with neurological disorders as contractures and malalignment of limbs is common in children with cerebral palsy and neuromuscular disorders. An expert orthopedic surgeon helps in optimising the correct alignment of limbs by release of contractures and other surgical options.
9 Dieticician/Nutritionist
