I am sharing with you a PPT that I had presented to Gurgaon Police in 2014. It was also shared with a host of schools and civil society members as well professionals including Child Psychologists during the launch of school security guidelines. I encourage you to share the PPT with other parents. The emphasis is on an integrated policy, a stay-safe plan, need for safety-skills development in a child which parents definitely need to partner.

A  Safety Skill Programme will need to be modified/adapted according to different abilities/challenges.

Subsequent to our advocacy pressure  School Safety guidelines issued by Gurgaon Police incorporated the much-needed Child Protection Provisions for Special Needs. Such preventive measures are required for children with disabilities who are the most vulnerable. But to get schools to take up their responsibility to effectively implement these provisions requires sustained parent pressure and vigilance.

Please refer page 38-40 ..pls recheck. It would be useful to share the special provisions with parent and professional groups stating these are the very basic expectations for ensuring a child’s safety in a therapy center and school environment.
