Is medication the only way to manage a seizure episode ?

Seizure medications are effective in controlling seizure episodes, but not always to the maximum extent. There are no other ways to control seizures other than through medications. Infantile spasms may not be effectively regulated through seizure medications. For such cases a Ketogenic diet protocol is advised for seizure control.

What are sub-clinical seizures?

Subclinical Seizures

Subclinical seizures are seizure occurrences often detected during the episode using an Electroencephalogram(EEG). Subclinical seizure symptoms differ due to lack of typical seizure symptoms that are physically apparent. Look out for instances where the child may appear blank or absent. Ask your doctor if it is indicative of a subclinical seizure episode.
