Why do bones bend if not strengthened by exercise in a child with Cerebral Palsy(CP)?

If a child with Cerebral Palsy(CP) doesn’t have enough range of motion in the limbs (due to lack of excercise) it leads to tightening of the tendons. This causes the growing bones to bend. Hence, physical therapy is key to prevent bone-related deformations in children with CP.

Physical therapy and massage is very effective for a child with Cerebral Palsy(CP) who has spasticity with increased muscle tone and reduced mobility at the joints. Engage a child with hypotonic muscles i.e. low muscle tone in movement to the extent possible through play or swimming exercises for better mobility in the future.
