What is the National Institute of Open Schooling, commonly known as NIOS?

The National Institute of Open Schooling is an educational board under the Ministry of Human Resource Development. It caters to students for whom, for various reasons, mainstream schools are not a good fit. National Institutes of Open Schooling Study Centres are not special schools. They simply offer support that would benefit students with special needs. NIOS offers Specialised schooling for your child’s special needs.
