Home-based intervention to improve your child’s communication skills

Ms Kim Chadda helps in identifying different home-based interventions that can help you to improve your child's communication skills.

In this video Special Educator & Auditory Verbal Therapist (AVT), Ms.Kim Chadda helps find ways to improve a child’s communication skills while engaging in everyday chores around the house.

It is important to remember to use verbal language when speaking to the child even if he/she uses gestures/signs/movement to communicate. It is always beneficial to constantly communicate when engaging in everyday activities — feeding, dressing, bathing, playing, etc. It is beneficial to use everyday repetitive tasks as means to help build a child’s language, memory, cognitive abilities and social communication skills.
