Flip the Script, Think Participation!

Children and youth with disabilities have the ability and the right to participate! To participate means to do activities with enjoyment (not necessarily with perfection) in different settings.

In this video, Dr. Roopa Srinivasan helps us understand Participation as a key concept to working with children and youth with disabilities. She provides insight into what Participation means in the context of children with disabilities, shares some ways in which parents and professionals can use Participation in child development and offers advice on measuring successes (focus on how much the child is participating instead of perfecting goals like talking or walking) for children with disabilities.
