Nayi Disha is collaborating with the Down Syndrome Federation of India (DSFI) and conducting a speech therapy workshop  about strategies to learn and manage speech difficulties in children with Down Syndrome. Speech therapist, Ms.Chitra Thadathil will be heading the workshop, and will provide tips and suggestions to parents who have children with Down syndrome of all age groups. Ms.Thadathil has over 15 years of work experience in the field and practises currently at Dimensions Centre for Child Development, Bangalore. This workshop is being conducted on the morning of the Down syndrome evaluation camp, so registered participants are please requested to be on time for this workshop to avoid delays in the schedule later in the day. The key issues that will be addressed in this workshop are the following - Oral motor development in children with Down Syndrome Challenges with feeding and speech clarity Importance of posture in oral motor exercises Strengthening the jaw, lips and the tongue Factors that affect consistency in therapy Tracking the progress Fee for the workshop : FREE
