Our Guest Speaker Renu Singh is a mother to a teenage girl child with Autism. As a professional she is a Special Educator, Facilitator and a trainer in Personal Safety and sexuality education for children with Intellectual disabilities, ASD and related conditions. In the capacity of Suvidha Project Director for Enfold Proactive Health Trust, she has conceptualised and developed the Suvidha Suraksha tool kit and the educational curriculum on Personal safety and comprehensive sexuality education for children with disabilities. She has co-authored the Suvidha Manual and also presented research papers on “Project Suvidha” and “Structured teaching” at various national and international conferences across India. Since 2013, Renu is the owner and creative director of a small enterprise, Wings to learn which specialises in handcrafted customised and individualised Teaching-Learning aids for children with Autism and other related disabilities. Being a parent herself, Renu is passionate about the cause of creating an inclusive society through generating awareness and acceptance, improving accessibility, creating and providing opportunities, skilling and nurturing children with disabilities to ensure them a meaningful, productive and a valued role in the society.
