What are biomedical therapies and what is your opinion about their role in Autism management?

BiomedicalTherapy_AutismManagement_ASD_BehaviourTherapy

Biomedical therapies aren’t evidence based techniques. Most behavioral challenges seen in the child can be regulated by habituation and not by biomedical treatments. For e.g. Dealing with constipation in the child can be achieved by habituating the child to a set routine, such as by designating a particular time and set of clothes associated with going to the toilet every day.

Can delivery of a child using forceps cause brain injury, and then Autism?

BrainInjury_BrainConnections_Autism_ASD

Yes, brain injury can happen when force is used. But, this has nothing to do with Autism. For the most part the brain of autistic child looks normal. Aberration in Autism is observed synaptically i.e. in the way the brain cells connect to one another, which in turn is responsible for regulation of how the brain coordinates bodily functions. Autism is not caused by physical injury to the brain.
