Gitanjali Schools in Hyderabad are Special Schools. They work with children with Autism, Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy and other intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Both the schools, Devashray and Devshala have been practicing inclusion since the inception of the school in 1997. The school focuses on disseminating knowledge as well as providing them opportunities to play a part in society. The school is open to all special needs but currently has students with Downs Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, and Global Developmental Delay. There are around 20 students with special needs with mild to moderate conditions currently enrolled. The school is equipped with a ramp, resource room and has a remedial educator and child psychologist on board. Students with special needs attend partial classes and are pulled out and only remedial education is provided by the school.
